We try to make sessions feel safe, comfortable, and comforting for you and sprinkle them with humor when appropriate. Being nonjudgmental is our creed. You are the authority on your life and we respect that. You are the guide as to how deep and far you want to go.
Counseling Methods We Use

EMDR
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to assist with processing distressing material. You might tap alternately left and right, or move your eyes from left to right following your therapist's fingers, while focusing on an issue.

CBT
CBT helps you see how your thoughts and feelings affect your behavior. Identifying the distortions in your thinking and challenging them helps you choose to feel and behave more adaptively.

Talk Therapy
In talk therapy you "get it off your chest" and have your thoughts, feelings, and assumptions reflected back to you. This helps you to get more in touch with yourself and to open up your thinking.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a way of being aware of what's right in front of you so you can be more present for yourself and for those you love. Mindful methods help you accept yourself more and become more accepting of others.

Inner Child Work
Often, the child we were lingers within us, still feeling starved for love. That child may control our emotional experience and behavior in the present, without our knowledge. Inner child work helps you place your adult self in control and heal the child within you.

Flash, TAT, etc.
We use Flash, Tapas Acupressure Technique, and other modalities to help you decrease distress resulting from difficult experiences and memories. These methods are gentle and effective and act quickly to dissipate negative inner states.
